The building was constructed in 1938-1939, and serves as a bright piece of "Stalin architecture". The whole building had been set for soviet writers. Nowadays it is renovated and inhabited by their grandchildren and expats. This dwelling house is one of the closest to the Red Square.
The windows are looking on the pedestrian Kamergersky Lane and world famous theater MKHAT, where Stanislavsky cultivated his acting system, now used by many Hollywood actors.
