Location The apartment is housed at 16 Nevsky prospect, corner with Bolshaya Morskaya street. The building makes one block with the Arch of General Quarters and the Palace Square and has a long and rich history. In late XVIII c. it used to house a famous hotel "London" and accommodate foreign guests of tsar family due to its closest proximity to the Winter Palace. Later in Pushkin times there was a "Grand English Shop" downstairs where numerous luxury products were sold, from English laces to gold jewelry, wines and food. Nicolas I and the Great Russian poet were frequent customers of that place. Nowadays the ground floor is occupied to the Italian Fashion Shop. The face side of the building has been recently renovated.
