In the Vladimir village of MSTYORA a few hundred women artisans concern themselves with needle-work. Mslyora needle-work' mainly mean; embroidery on delicate while fabric in the form ol bouquets and garlands, satin-stitched and richly decoraied. This type of needle-work decorales blankets, robes, women's underwear, blouses and dresses. Mslyora needle-works most common motif is a stylised image ol a rose surrounded by leaves and flowers of ever/ kind. Mslyora artisans also work with coloured threads. The edges ol an embroidered piece ol fabric are usually decorated with small merlons linished in ý looped stitch.
