Cathedral of Christ the Saviour - The enormous gleaming golden dome and gigantic structure of the newly built Cathedral of Christ the Savior is visible from all over central Moscow and is the largest church in Russia. Clad in marble and granite, with huge bronze doors covered in relief depictions of the saints, the cathedral is an awesome statement of the re-found power and prestige of the Orthodox Church and one of Moscow's most impressive ecclesiastical buildings.

Tretyakov State Gallery - one of the world’s largest museums, a treasure house of old Russian art from the XXI century till our days. The gallery bears the name of its founder, Pavel Tretyakov, a rich Russian manufacturer and patron of art. Now the Tretyakov Gallery holds more than 50000 works of painting, graphic art and sculpure.

Pushkin Fine Arts Museum - Moscow's equivalent to St. Petersburg's enormous Hermitage Museum. It houses an extensive collection of ancient art and artifacts from the Ancient times to the New Age, including Egyptian, Assyrian, Ancient Greek and Roman pieces. The museum was established by the father of the famous Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva.

Moscow State University - MGU, originally named the Lomonosov University, is the oldest educational institution in Russia and was founded on the 12th January 1755 on the decree of Empress Elizaveta. The enormous gothic skyscraper was commissioned by Stalin, along with 6 others dotted across Moscow known as "The Seven Sisters", and was built between 1949 and 1953 on the site, which Ivan the Terrible had deemed "too windy" for construction back in the 16th century.

Moscow Metro - one of the most beautiful underground railway systems in the world. The stations built in the Stalin era are remarkable for their pompous ornamentation and uniques architecture and look more like temples and palaces . Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed - commissioned by Ivan the Terrible and built on the edge of Red Square between 1555 and 1561. Legend has it that on completion of the church the Tsar ordered the architect, Postnik Yakovlev, to be blinded to prevent him from ever creating anything to rival its beauty again. St. Basil's is a delightful array of swirling colors and redbrick towers. Its design comprises nine individual chapels, each topped with a unique onion dome and each commemorating a victorious assault on the city of Kazan.

Submarine in Vladivostok - C-56 submarine now serves as a museum. It is an actual WWII sub that sank 10 enemy ships. The sub is part of a memorial complex called "Military Glory of the Pacific Fleet".
