Romanov Triangle. ViaggiareinRussia.com. If you are not ready for spending a couple of weeks in the train but want to see the best highlights of the Russian part of the Trans-Siberian - try this route. From the grandeur of the capital through the nobleness of imperial Ekaterina city, to the pearl of Siberia - the Lake Baikal.

Day 1

Arrival to Moscow.
Transfer from the airport.

To travel to Russia without visiting Moscow - means to see nothing in Russia. This city is really the city of contrasts. It has seen military parades on Red Square, KGB, Lenin and Solzhenitsyn. It is home for Bolshoy Theatre, Tretyakov Gallery and Pushkin Museum. History, art, religion, politics, adventure, romance, night life - whatever you are looking for, you will find it in Moscow.

Day 2

Transfer to the railway station at 15:08.
Departure for Ekaterinburg at 16:08.

Train «Moscow - Ekaterinburg Express», number 016N, Moscow-Ekaterinburg
Destinations: Russia, Moscow: Yaroslavsky Station - Russia, Yekaterinburg. Recommended stops: - Moscow - Yekaterinburg. Distance en-route: 1668km.

Day 4

Arrival to Ekaterinburg at 22:12.
Transfer from the railway station.

Yekaterinburg is located in the middle section of the Ural mountain chain, right between Europe and Asia. The first settlers found silver, gems, diamonds... and gold, which started the first Russian gold-rush and made the city very rich. In the Soviet times the city was the main producer of munitions and was even closed for foreigners - it’s only been opened recently. Another dark secret of the city is the assassination of the last Russian emperor and his family, in 1918.

Day 6

Transfer to the railway station at 00:51.
Departure for Irkutsk at 01:51.

Train «Rossia», number 002M, Ekaterinburg-Irkutsk
Destinations: Russia, Yekaterinburg - Russia, Irkutsk. Recommended stops: - Yekaterinburg - Tyumen - Omsk - Novosibirsk - Krasnoyarsk - Irkutsk. Distance en-route: 3367km. Be aware that this train is transiting Yekaterinburg city on the way from Moscow to Vladivostok. The availability of seats is determined on how many people will get off in Yekaterinburg and confirmed 24-48 hours prior to arrival.

Day 8

Arrival to Irkutsk at 10:33.
Transfer from the railway station.

Often called the "Paris of Siberia", Irkutsk city is one of the oldest and most charming cities in the country. Irkutsk today is a reflection of mixed cultures - traders from the east and exiles from the west. Irkutsk is a major stop on the Trans-Siberian railroad because it is situated not far from the world's deepest lake, Lake Baikal.

Day 9

Optional program at the Lake Baikal and Listvyanka village.

Day 10

Transfer to the airport.
End of program.
