Bogolyubovo - a former residence of Andrey Bogolyubski, situated in a few miles from Vladimir. Excursion to the Svyato-Bogolyubsky Monastery and Pokrova-na-Nerli Church. The church is a real masterpiece of the old Russian architecture built in 1164. It stands on a small hill among extensive water meadows.

Kostroma - the town was firstly mentioned in the Chronicles in 1237. The contemporary Kostroma is a picturesque city with a strong historical atmosphere. The town is famous for its Trade Galleries, fire-watch tower, Romanov's Palace and Ipatiev Monastery - a real miracle of Russia architecture.

Pereslavl Zalessky - this town, located nearby the wonderful Plescheevo lake, looks as if there was more old ancient churches than hotels, cafes and shops all together. The most ancient monument of the North East Russia, Saviour-Transfuguration Cathedral, is situated here. It was built in the middle of the XII century.

Rostov the Great - one of the oldest cities of the route, situated by the beautiful lake Nero. The enormous cathedral of 16th century and its "metropoly" are considered the ancient city center, so called "Rostov Kremlin". Its towers impress by their white-stone architecture. The town is also famous for the "Rostov Finift" museum.

Sergiev Posad (Zagorsk) - the town was named after Saint Sergey Radonezhsky. In the XIV century he founded a monastery there that became one of the greatest in Russia. Nowadays the monastery carries the name of Trinity Lavra of St. Sergey and is considered to be "Russian Vatican". Its a temporary residence of Russian patriarch.

Suzdal - the most fabulous place of the Golden Ring. More than 100 architecture monuments dating from different periods of the past millenium are concentrated here: the Kremlin, trading rows, several monasteries, lots of big and small churches, the unique museum-town of wooden architecture, Krestovaya Palata, etc.

Vladimir - the history of the town goes back over one thousand years. It was founded in 990s by Prince Vladimir on the bank of the river Klyazma. The rise of Vladimir began under Andrei Bogolubsky, the son of Yuri Dolgoruki who founded Moscow. During the city tour you will visit the famous XII century cathedrals and view the Golden Gates.

Yaroslavl - though the city is the biggest and most active one of the route, it has conserved a nice style of province life. Yaroslavl has a reach collection of historical and art monuments, it is also known for its wall-paintings in cathedrals and churches. Visit to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery and Ilya-Prophet Church.
