It's worth your time to visit THE VILLAGE OF BOGOLYUBOVO. If you make the ten-kilometre trip from Vladimir to the banks of the river Nerl', your patience will be rewarded. The chronicles say that in 1158, prince Andrei built a stone castle in Bogolyubov, where he received foreign emissaries and established trade and political relations with other principalities. The prince's new fortress and luxurious residence have not survived to see our times. Their only remnants are a fragment of the ancient wall and a stepped tower.
